Getting a book published is a thrilling achievement. I did an extended happy dance that went on longer than it should have and caused some weird thing to start clicking in my ankle.
But with millions of books published each year and overall book sales falling, it’s not easy to be an author.
As my book is about to hit the shelves, friends have been asking what they can do to support me (yep, I have pretty pretty pretty awesome friends!). I did a little research into this question, and here’s what I found.
- If you’re interested in reading the book, add it to your Goodreads Want to Read shelf.
- Once the book is available, buy a copy. Literally every sale in every store helps.
- If you enjoy the book, leave a review. Goodreads is a great place for reviews as the reading community is so active. If you’re not on Goodreads, there’s always Amazon or iBooks.
If you’re a lover of books, or even a liker of an author of books, then your support is incredibly important.
And if you’re a friend of mine, I thank you for your book-love from the bottom of my heart. Writing books is all I have, and your support means the world to me.
